Jesselton was renamed Kota Kinabalu in 1967. The town, rebuilt
after the devastation of the war, lies on the west coast of
Sabah, washed by the South China Sea.

As the capital of Sabah, it is served by international flight
routes and sea lanes.
The tour drives through the city centre to various places of interest
-- the Sabah Foundation Building, Poh Toh Tze Temple and the
Sabah
State Mosque. A visit to the Sabah Museum provides a brief look at
the historical and cultural background of the region.
Drive up Signal Hill for a bird's eye view of the city's commercial
centre and the offshore islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.
Note: Museum is closed on Fridays.
