Day 1

Start with an early morning transfer to Sandakan seafront from airport/hotel. Board a speedboat for the 1 hour journey to Selingan Island. Check-in and relax before lunch. Enjoy the sun, sea and sand or snorkel around the island. Learn more about the green turtle as the huge adults come on shore to perform a ritualistic scene for their egg-laying. Later help the Rangers release newly-hatched turtles from the nursery. Overnight on the Island's Resthouse (photo size: 28KB).

After breakfast, journey back to Sandakan for your transfer to the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. Experience the complexity of being in a tropical rainforest and witness the rehabilitation program being undertaken for the orang utans at this centre.

Lunch will be provided, followed by a tour of Sandakan visiting the central market, a Chinese temple with a panoramic view of the Sandakan harbour and city. Transfer to airport/hotel at the end of the tour.
